America’s Boating Course

Learn the fundamentals of safe boat handling. This course is for boaters of all types – Sail, Power, and Personal Watercraft. Successful completion meets North Carolina requirements for certification to operate a power boat for anyone under the age of 26 and may provide a discount on boat insurance.
Topics include boating terminology, VHF radio, Navigation rules, Navigation aids, NC regulations, charts, and electronic navigation.
The course will be taught on Saturday, January 20 at the Cape Fear Jetport. Registration will begin at 8:30 am. Instruction starts at 9:00, concluding at 5:00PM. The cost of the 8 hour course will be $60. This includes lunch, a 260 page textbook that will be a good reference. Couples sharing a book will pay $35 for the second person.
